INSURANCE CLAIMS? DO I NEED A LAWYER?
First and foremost if you do have a strong case and feel you are being unjustly treated then you really need to read further.
Since the other party is an Insurance Company with deep pockets many Law firms will take on such a case on a no win no fee basis.
Then you should work very closely with them in every aspect of the case. Research the Case Law and Legislation yourself, read and study the briefs. Don’t let your lawyer submit anything without showing you first, and anything they receive in writing insist that you receive a copy. This is so you can maintain control of the situation and make sure you understand whats going on and are happy with your lawyers responses.
Insurance companies rely on your ignorance of the changes the Government has made nationally to protect your rights from Insurers not paying.
I would go to a specialist Insurance lawyer for this reason (even Lawyers would do the same).
This area of law is complex and riddled with competing case law and messy legislation.
Only a lawyer on top of his game in this field will succeed against the Insurance Companies big guns.
