Suggested Approach was : Josh obviously you have every right to challenge it, if they want to be so pedantic and fine you $30 make them earn every cent.. when you get the preliminary brief if they don’t produce Photo evidence themselves then it is your word against theirs.

If worded properly a letter written to them offering a conditional acceptance upon presentation of what they would put into the preliminary brief (the evidence/proof they have) could do the trick.

Response : No Danny, I followed your advice and asked them to submit a brief of photographic evidence of the alleged offence, (subject to paying the fine). I think they threw the towel in coz the officer was unable to provide any actual evidence
